Free Download of Dogma, A Card Game about Biochemistry

Hello there!
I came up with this game (Dogma) one day in biochemistry class when my professor wrote a string of amino acids on the board by their one letter abbreviation and challenged us to figure out the protein sequence. As I pulled out my flashcards for the amino acids and placed them on my desk in a row, I thought to myself… this could be the beginning of a great game!

So that day, I drafted a quick prototype with blank cards and markers and tested out the game mechanics with friends. After tweaking the game over time and coming up with a better design, I wanted to share it with you all. Whether you’re taking a biochemistry course right now or have no biology background at all, you can play Dogma by printing out 2 copies of this pdf file.

It includes an instructional pamphlet, amino acid cards, nucleotide cards, and special mutation cards. Be sure to print out the file double-sided (short edge) and cut according to the lines. Lamination is recommended.

My hope for this card set is that it will be like a standard deck of playing cards that can yield many variations of games. If you and your friends come up with a new way to play, comment on the post to share your version!
