Recipe: Kiwi Apple Jam

Today I tried my hand at making some Kiwi Apple Jam. I had a bunch of extra kiwis lying around in my fridge about to go bad. So I decided to put them to good use. After looking through a couple of recipes for making jam in the good ol' microwave, I decided to just wing it. For my Kiwi Apple Jam, I peeled and cut about 5 kiwis in a bowl along with cubes of half an apple. I added a splash of apple cider vinegar (in place of lemon juice). After a minute in the microwave, I took it out to stir and add a packet of brown sugar. I repeated this 1 minute microwave, add one packet of sugar 3 times in total, and continued to microwave at 1 minute increments until the jam looked ready. So in the end it looked some like this:

It was a tad sour so I may not have added enough sugar. But nonetheless it was tasty! I'd try it again on stovetop. Microwave jam-making isn't the easiest or best method. But, hey, it works.

This is a picture of my delicious PB&J: Peanut Butter and (Kiwi) Jam

I love how this jam is more tart and less sweet compared to the traditional grape jelly. It really complements the peanut butter well. Love it!

Let me know in the comments if you try the recipe. What do you do with leftover kiwis in your fridge?
